Parks & Recreation Hospitality & Rental Manager, City of Fairfield

Salary Range:  $50,565 - $83,954 Annually

Description
The Parks and Recreation Hospitality & Rental Manager plays a critical role in the delivery of a comprehensive recreation and hospitality program, with a mission of ensuring exceptional recreational and leisure opportunities and experiences for residents and visitors to the City of Fairfield.

The individual in this role plans, directs, and manages the daily operations related to events, hospitality, concessions, and facility rental services within the Parks and Recreation Department, while promoting an atmosphere of high customer service standards.

Examples of Duties
Primary areas of focus include:

Setting up client event rentals at various locations within Fairfield

Coordinating concessions operations at multiple locations

Managing the weekly farmer's market during summer months

Managing food and beverage inventory (ordering/delivery)

Obtaining all appropriate permits/licenses

Coordinating cleaning schedules/procedures

Managing labor schedules and staffing levels

Providing supervision to full-time and part-time staff

Overseeing Health department inspections and ensuring safety standards are met

Coordinating equipment maintenance/repairs

Typical Qualifications
Preferred qualifications, skills, and abilities:

Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Administration, Leisure Studies, or a related field

Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP)

Required qualifications, skills, and abilities:

Five years professional experience in recreation/leisure field, with three years in a supervisory position

Effective leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as creative ability are a must

Valid driver’s license
