General Description
Assists the Park and Marina Manager in directing recreation activities and operations in the park and marina, ensuring that the policies, rules, and regulations of the MWCD are followed, ensuring excellent customer service is provided to all visitors. Assists Park and Marina Manager with dock and boat placement and retail sales operations. Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising seasonal, variable and full-time park and marina staff. Assumes responsibility for the park and marina in the absence of the Park and Marina Manager.
Qualifications
Possession of an Associate?s Degree in parks and recreation management or natural resources management with two (2) or more years of comparable demonstrated work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Licensure or Certification Requirements
Must possess a driver’s license valid in the State of Ohio and must be insurable by MWCD fleet insurance. Possession of or ability to obtain an Ohio Boater Education Certification.

Conducts park and marina inspections; oversees park and marina facilities and marina maintenance and cleaning; performs routine and preventative maintenance to park and marina vehicles and equipment. Assists Park and Marina Manager and Assistant Marina Manager in maintaining and improving a clean marina designation through the ODNR Clean Marina program.

Ensures accurate use of park and marina reservation systems and ensures compliance with income processing and record keeping systems. Makes purchases; manages inventory, ensures products are not outdated and orders new merchandise; updates procedures for merchandise sales in camp stores/concession/marina retail areas; determines operating hours and recommends campground and other park or marina facility improvements.

Assists in overseeing park and marina compliance with budgeted funds; assists in administering park and marina budget and fiscal operations, including review of staffing levels, projects costs, tracks expenditures, prepares area budget, prepares and reviews reports, interprets purchasing guidelines, tracks revenue, sets expenditure limits in areas of responsibility, and reviews revenue; processes accounts payable utilities.

Participates in park and marina planning including goal setting and suggesting new approaches to improve customer service. Seeks out grants for park related projects, equipment and activities and follows appropriate internal procedures to apply for grants.
Maintains required licensures and certification, if any.

Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
