Assistant Parks & Recreation Manager, Tallmadge Parks & Recreation

Salary Range:  $55,000-$65,000/year

The City of Tallmadge is seeking an Assistant Parks and Recreation Manager. This position will oversee operations at Maca Aquatic Center, parks and facility maintenance, and sports programs. These positions supervise hiring, training, and management of Parks and Recreation Center staff; assisting in creation and implementation of the departmental budget; assisting in the planning and marketing for department services, facilities, and programs; cleaning and maintenance of all department facilities; and various purchasing and human resource functions.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Sports Management, Physical Education, or a closely related field or a combination of education, training, and experience. Candidates must have two (2) years of experience in either a full or part-time capacity in the Recreation field and personnel management and possess a proven ability to follow directions and be legally permitted to work the hours and schedule that meet the facility’s needs. The position also requires a valid State of Ohio driver’s license. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification, Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor/Trainer, and Water Safety Instructor certifications preferred.
