The City of Bellevue Recreation and Parks invites you to explore Ohio’s largest indoor playground. The Jungle Junction playground structure was donated to the City of Bellevue from Kalahari in Sandusky, Ohio. After the donation, the department worked with Bellevue Rec Club, a non-profit group to begin fundraising. In 2015 construction began on the $600,000 project and was finished in May of 2016.  Annually, Jungle Junction generated a net revenue of roughly $150,000, allowing the City of Bellevue to increase staffing and complete more projects without having to go to the taxpayers.

In addition to Jungle Junction, we will explore their playground revitalization project at Robert Peters Park, one of the city’s largest parks nestled within walking distance from the school. The revitalization project cost $458,000, which replaced a 25-year-old structure with an ADA accessible playground with inclusive elements. Phase two of the project will include a paved walking trail around the park making it more inclusive and improving the walkability. Phase three will include a shelter near the playground for the community.

Lunch will be from Bubbarock.  Participants will receive a boxed lunch including sandwich and chips.  Please bring your own drink/water.

Thank you to the City of Bellevue for hosting!
