The OPRA Foundation is seeking volunteers to serve in a number of capacities in order to grow the impact of the Foundation on the profession around the state. Volunteers will receive leadership experience as well as a chance to give back to the profession.
The current Foundation Board is expanding its efforts in providing student and professional scholarships, grants, and positive messaging for parks and recreation. The time commitment for volunteers will vary depending on which working group you choose to be involved with. Working groups exist for OPRA Conference activities, the Foundation Golf Outing, Scholarships, Grants, new event planning, planned giving, and communications.

Communications
Group members will create and implement a communications plan for the
Foundation. Items include creating content for the website and monthly
newsletter and working with the other Foundation groups on messaging.
Conference Activities
Group members will plan activities for the OPRA Conference & Trade
Show. Activities include recruiting items for the Silent Auction and
Raffle, working at the Silent Auction, and planning any games to
increase involvement with the Foundation.
Events
Group members will plan and execute new statewide and regional events to
help raise funds for the Foundation. Suggested events include a 5K,
Euchre Tournament, or some other great idea that you can suggest!
Golf Outing
Group members will help plan and work at the annual OPRA Foundation Golf
Outing. The Golf Outing takes place after Labor Day weekend.
Grants
Group members will review the current grant process and also score grant applications.
Planned Giving
Group members will identify and recruit new corporate donors to
help fund Foundation initiatives. They will also help promote the
EarthShare and Kroger programs currently in place.
Scholarships
Group members will review the current scholarship process and also score
scholarship applications. Currently the Foundation offers Academic
Scholarships and Continuing Education Scholarships.
